Scouting For Food
On Saturday and Sunday, February 2 & 3, Troop and Pack 189 participated in our annual Food Drive to help the needy on Long Island.
As Cub Scouts, we have fun at meetings building stuff, playing games,
earning awards and having parties. But being a scout also means giving back
to the community. We do this in all types of ways. By being helpful to our
neighbors, park clean ups, and this past December with Grant leading the
coat drive.
As Boy Scouts, We still have fun but our focus is more on life skills, outdoors and being the best we can be.
Today you all contributed to our Annual Food Drive. Even if you don't
think you did much, you did a whole lot. The food will help feed the
homeless, hungry, single parents and working poor. You should all feel
proud that you gave your time to do such a wonderful cause.
Thanks also goes to your parents who support you and the cub / boy scout programs.
In scouts, the way we say thanks is by shouting BULLY (made famous by
Theodore Roosevelt who our district is named after).
BULLY to all
