On 11/18/2006 members of Pack 123 hit the highway and drove down to Camden, New Jersey to sleep over on the Battleship NJ, BB-62. Once we arrived we loading our gear into our assigned sleeping quarters. Scouts were then ordered up to the mess hall for dinner. After supper, each scout pack was assigned a tour guide, who actually served on the ship while on active duty. We
traveled all over the ship, learning about Navy life and how the ship operated. Our first night was wrapped up with a movie and snacks. At 23:30 hours the order "lights out" was given. The following morning breakfast was served and off we went venturing all over the ship on a self guided tour. Most of our tenured parents agreed that the tour and structured presentation at Battleship New Jersey far surpassed Battleship Cove in Bedford,
Massachusetts. We cant wait for our next camping adventure!
